The theme or the message of the poem is that some people look good or inpress people on purpose so that they can have people like them on the outside most of the time instead of the inside. Looking good is not that inportant because why should someone have to impress somebody so they can be popular why can it not be for theirselves. People try to look good because they want to have people not judge them instead of looking at the real perspective of looking good. I think that it's not worth putting alot of time into your physical apperance because you should feel comfortable with yourself before you let anyone else judge you. In the end I dont think your apperance matters all that much because people should see you for who you are in your hart instead of your outside.
